Lone Women

Oh, I really liked this one. It's an interesting mostly weird western horror story, but has one of those narratives that manages to keep you guessing at each turn of the page. Just when you think you've figured out where it's taking you, it veers off in a different direction and you're left trying to get your bearings again before the next unexpected turn.

LaValle is a brilliant writer, and while I've not read many of his works (so far), I've not been disappointed by any of them. This is definitely one worth reading if you fancy something a little bit darker but ultimately very readable.
