The Dead Cat Tail Assassins

Oh, that was so much fun.

The Dead Cat Tail Assassins have three very important rules, the most important of which is never let a target live. Except Eveen just broke that rule and now she has to put things right before the Mistress of Assassins, a literal goddess, comes to punish her.

What follows is probably one of the most fun reads I've picked up in a long time. The interplay between the various characters is fantastic, and the tongue-in-cheek humour that fills pretty much every page had me low-key chuckling for a large part of this book. In fact, the only times I wasn't chuckling was when I was laughing out loud. And the big showdown at the end, with not one but two goddesses of death arguing at each other in full-on patois, makes for a blast of an ending.

It's only a short read, but definitely worth every turn of the page, and absolutely deserves all five of those stars I'm giving it.
